Meleka
Meleka is a 21 year old North West London singer/songwriter who first came to public attention after winning the annual talent competition HUGO Urban Rules in 2008. The event saw her performing for music industry experts and stars Estelle and ex-Mystique singer Sabrina Washington. Upon winning, Meleka had the chance to sing on stage with the pair.
After taking part in the competition, Meleka went on to appear on the track 'Scars' by Basement Jaxx, which also featured UK rapper Chipmunk and American singer Kelis. This was followed by an appearance on UK artist Don E’s song Time Is Now, also featuring ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena.
Meleka’s debut single 'Go', a UK Funky song produced by Crazy Cousinz, was released in September 2009 and reached the BBC 1Xtra A List as well as being played on KISS FM, Choice FM and Galaxy Network. 'Go' was also featured as Urban Record of the Month by Mixmag. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
