Mendelson
Mendelson was started in late 2003, as a way for Shane to express music outside his touring band (Quick and the Dead). Shane has been writing, recording and producing his own music for years. With the break up of Quick and the Dead in 2007, Shane has set out to make Mendelson a full time job. With the up coming release of his new album "Lies", Shane hopes to make working hard his new years resolution. "I've never been more excited about any CD I've made. My last album "Beneath The Stars" was recorded one song at a time over the course of about a year. "Lies" was written and recorded in about 4 months and I couldn't be happier with it", says Shane.
The album is 13 tracks that range from pop, rock and funk to almost movie score music. The album also has a theme, "Lies". "I wasn't trying to make a theme it just kinda happened after I wrote Lies. It was songs like Believe Me, Let Us Fall, and The Truth which really started to shape the meaning behind what i wanted to say, which was that we all tell lies." Songs like "Gullible" deal with being lied to and not realizing it, or sometimes accepting it because it's what you want to believe.
The lyrics for the album center around the problems caused by telling lies and even worse, believing your own lies."Believe a man when he offers you his lies but not the ones that he swears he doesn't hide" and "Don't believe anything i say to you cause I'm never telling the truth", are just the type of things you'll hear on this CD. "It's alot darker lyricly than the last CD but i like that, I feel like there is real meaning in what i'm saying."
With the album finished Mendelson will be playing shows to support the record and will be constantly writing for the 2008 release. Be on the look out for this up and coming artist.
