Metal On Metal
This is how it happened: three dirty music junkies met at the now deceased legendary Vilnius electro club Stereo45 and after hours of drunken talk decided to play some records together.
Manfredas, already a radio DJ and a specialist of bangin' anthems be they rock or dance, Kym Wild, italo disco cum new/dark/no wave maniac and Miss America, addicted to any dangerous guitar sound, threw their records together and started DJing. At first for themselves, then for some dedicated late night loco peeps, then for some pill-popping hand-raising whores and finally for the people who were not only nodding their heads like in heavy metal concerts but dangerously jumping and screaming nonsenses - the perfect riot crowd.
After a few months the sense to it all started to emerge: THE RIOT MUSIC TO DANCE TO. In summer of 2004 they made their official debut as NESAKYK MAMAI! DJs (eng. Don't Tell Ya Mom) and since then they made quite some things to be proud of.
The three DJs almost always end their sets when forced by security, scream like being stabbed, get naked and dance while playing endlessly, because, in their own words, it's the soundtrack of their lives.
It paid off more then needed: after playing together for only one year, NM! were given an awkward DJ Team Of The Year title in the influential ORE portal's survey two past years in a row. They also played with such big shots as Gus Gus, Zombie Nation, Andrew Weatherall, Carl Craig, Westbam, etc. etc.
After bragging for years of how good they are, they finally shut up in autumn, 2006 and made their first real tune NO FRONT TEETH, which to their amazement, was greeted with handclaps and shout-outs. Immediately after that they made some new friends in beds and decided to record new songs and prepare for their LIVE! debut, planned in late 2007.
The begining of 2007 was impossible to be described without some strong curse words - guys got their freak on some remakes: DATAROCK "I USED TO DANCE WITH MY DADDY" TIM DELUXE featuring AUDIO BULLIES "LET THE BEATS ROLL" NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB "ICE CREAM" and even got their NO FRONT TEETH smashed by monstrous NIGHTMOVES remix.
Wondering what to do with all these goods, guys decided to change their lithuanian name, which sounded like indian tribe or some kind of sandwich, into more comprehensive one. Thus, METAL ON METAL was born. Immediately after changing the name, they rushed to make some t-shirts with it, to see if it still looks ok. Read more on Last.fm.
