The 'Ghosts On The Underground' 7" vinyl single was released in the UK on May 19th.
HISTORY:
After 2 years gigging the UK (01-03) playing over 150 shows, MAC signed a deal and jetted to the most excellent Big Fish recording studios, located in the coastal hills near Rancho Santa Fe in San Diego, Southern California, USA, (where such bands as Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182 & Rocket From The Crypt have recorded), to record their very own mini-album ‘The View Is Amazing’ (released in Summer 04 on Sorepoint / Bravestar Records). A split-single with Fall Out Boy (with MAC's keyboard fuelled sing-a-long hit 'As Always' on the flip side), was promoted with a sold out UK tour in Feb 05. In Mar 05, MAC recorded on home soil in the UK at 2 top London studios to give their debut full-length album ‘Actions’ a distinctive british edge. Produced by Larry Hibbitt (of UK rockstars Hundred Reasons), the result was a guitar driving and melody fuelled gem that was well received by the media and fans alike. The album spawned 3 single releases (Put Up A Fight, Set To Go & Awake), and all gained plays on Radio 1, MTV2, Kerrang TV and Scuzz.
MAC's most successful single to date ‘Put Up A Fight’ was used on the Saints Row video game and was also featured on the Australian Big Brother show along with other MAC tracks 'You Need Discipline' & 'Set To Go' and this gained the band tremendous exposure. ‘Put Up A Fight’ was also included on the Kerrang New Breed compilation feat. Panic At The Disco and The Automatic.
MAC toured heavily during 04-06 to promote their album and single releases in Europe and had the pleasure to go on tour with many top acts including; A, Capdown, Reel Big Fish, Fightstar, Fall Out Boy, The Darkness, MC Lars, Hopesfall, Reggie & The Full Effect, Audio Karate, Piebald, Jackson United & Alkaline Trio. MAC also got into the festival spirit and performed at Download, Summer Sundae, Truck and Pukkelpop. In Mar/Apr 06 MAC went on their global quest and played sold out shows on their debut tour of Japan and then they played packed out venues in Australia supporting Funeral For A Friend.
After a heavy recording, touring and promo schedule, MAC eventually returned home to Leicester to begin work on the 2nd album. To break up the writing process and to get back out on the road, in Mar 07 MAC teamed up with top indie label and friends Gravity DIP (Do It Properly!) of Kingston, to release a limited edition 10" split single. After a busy 17 shows/17 day UK tour, MAC returned back to their practice room to write the final few tracks for the new album.
MAC began recording their second album (again with Larry Hibbitt [Hundred Reasons] at the controls) in the Summer & Autumn of 07 and the new face melting sound hit the stores in May '08.
