Navigators
3. NAVIGATORS (Norway) is the name of Trond Andreassen's — lead singer of the now split Ricochets — new band. As of November 2009 they have released one single, "Wall of stone", out on Sony Music.
2. NAVIGATORS (Czech) got their ticket to ride to the top of the music scene in exchange for their first album SKY TRAVELLIN´ (SubPub/Sony) released by the end of 2007. It is the first Czech record ever mastered in the world famous Sterling Sound Studios NY by Tom Coyne (MC Solaar, Beyonce, Destiny´s child, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Kanye West, Jamiroquai or Sade). The record is not adored just for it's perfect sound, but also for the creative approach of the whole seven-member band, that avoided using samples and invited seventeen great Czech musicians instead to produce a record that nobody else in Czech ever tried to make. A 100%-live rare mix of R´n´B, soul, jazz and funk.
Through out the band's short history Navigators warmed up the stage for several music legends, such as Al McKay´s Earth, Wind and Fire, Dj Vadim, Sugarhill Gang, Martin Luther(The Roots) or Dough Wimbish. Today, Navigators, nominated by some of the most influencing music magazines in the country for the Newcomer of the year, go on tour with one the Czech’s best rated record of the year, while their first music video is waiting for its official premiere on MTV Europe.

Under the late 90’s, the European Rap/HipHop scene was at it’s best years. Many artists, especially from Germany, spotted out hit after hit. There were a few from Scandinavia also, and Navigators are one of them. The Navigators consists of David Jassy and Andreas Avellan. With the project is a background singer named Paris. The Swedish duo had some big hits with their three singles “Come Into My Life”, “I Remember” and “Superstar”. Great choruses, fast rhymes and hot sound, made their way into the charts. Their album was named “Daily Life Illustrators” and was released in the end of 1999.
David Jassy has been arrested on November 24, 2008 following a road-rage confrontation on a Hollywood street in which a pedestrian died. Jassy, who has co-written songs for High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale, was being represented by attorneys from the Public Defender's Office. Read more on Last.fm.
