Anna-Lynne Williams flew to Denton, TX in the summer of 2008 to record a duet on the upcoming John Grant album, being recorded with Midlake in their studio. Which is where she crossed paths with Robert Gomez, who was laying down guitar parts for the same album. After listening to one another's solo works, Robert came up with the idea to rent a house in the small desert town of Marfa, TX for a month, to write and record a full album. They set up Robert's recording gear in a little adobe house under a sky full of stars in February 2009, and left a month later with ten songs. McKenzie Smith of Midlake added drums and an album was born.
Their debut album Machine will be released in 2012.
Anna-Lynne also records music with the band Trespassers William and has a folk project entitled Lotte Kestner in Seattle. Robert records music under his own name, and performs with Sarah Jaffe in Denton. Read more on Last.fm.
