Paris Green
Paris Green began playing together back in high school in the late 90s in The Woodlands, Texas. What began as a conversation between classmates Justin Pena and British transplant Matt Gosney, along with the powerful and soulful voice of Matt Patin, has evolved into one of the tightest and most promising original bands in the region with their unique blend of funk, rock, blues, reggae and hip-hop featuring melodic riffs and thought-provoking lyrics.
Paris Green toured the country with performances spanning coast-to-coast, developing a loyal fan base from New York to Florida and Texas to California. Music critics began to take notice and coverage of the band, including radio, television and newspaper interviews became more prominent, helping to establish the bands musical credibility and mainstream popularity. These opportunities resulted in larger shows, including opening slots for Flyleaf, Journey, Def Leppard, 30 Seconds to Mars, Nonpoint, Blue October, Switchfoot, Dishwalla, Hoobastank, and even 2 Live Crew and Slim Thug, to name a few.
With the dawn of recording their third album, the band decided to stretch into new musical territory and expand their sound by adding a second guitarist. Tim Del Toro stepped up to take on the role and infused the bands sound with his groove-oriented style and strong vocal harmonies.
Paris Green released the much-anticipated new album Rambling Yellow Paper in early 2007. The album, produced by Eric Delegard (Bowling for Soup & Drowning Pool) at Reel Time Audio Studios, is the most mature work from the band to date and reflects a variety of musical layers and textures.
Paris Green is Matt Patin (vocals), Justin Pena (guitar), Matt Gosney (bass), Tim Del Toro (guitars/vocals), and Josh Broussard (drums).
With the new album comes a new era for Paris Green and their fans. The band remains loyal to their unique style; however, a new-found musical and lyrical maturity offers music fans across the board something to sink their teeth into. The future looks bright for Paris Green and they are eager to invite fans aboard for the ride.
