Patricia Morrison
Patricia Morrison (born January 14, 1962 in Los Angeles) is an American musician. She played bass in The Damned from 1996 to 2005. She became a fixture of the L.A. punk scene in her mid-teens, and was a founding member of The Bags in 1976. She left that band and began Legal Weapon in 1981, releasing an EP called No Sorrow.
She was invited to join The Gun Club in 1982, and she relocated to London. Patricia quit after the second tour, and formed another band called Fur Bible. They performed as the opening act for Siouxsie and the Banshees, and it was during this time Patricia was contacted by Andrew Eldritch, asking her to join The Sisters of Mercy. She performed on the 1986 album Gift by The Sisterhood and on the 1987 Sisters' album Floodland but left the group in the early 90s due to (as The Mission stated) a claim that monies were not paid as due from Eldritch, something that insiders claim is quite typical. She released a solo EP, Reflect On This, in 1994.
In 1996 she was invited to join The Damned after bassist Paul Gray was injured by a fan in concert. That same year Patricia married lead singer Dave Vanian and remained with The Damned until 2005. On February 9, 2004 David Vanian and Patricia Morrison's daughter Emily Vanian was born at 8:20pm weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces.
She left the Damned in late 2005 to take care of Emily. Her replacement is Stu West. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
