Poet Voices
Since its formation, Poet Voices has gained the respect of its peers and Gospel Music supporters alike, with its compositions, rich harmony, progressive arrangements, and inspiring musical message.
On the surface, the rise to success for Poet Voices appears to have been rather swift. A closer look reveals many years of planning, preparation, and perseverance. In the early 1980s, Phil Cross began to emerge as one of Gospel Music's leading songwriters. Within just a short time of writing his first composition, many of the most popular recording artists were soliciting songs from this gifted composer. The result was the recording of many classic songs, including "When I Get Carried Away," "Saved To The Uttermost," "Miracle In Me," "Wedding Music," as well as Phil's signature song, "Champion Of Love," which received the Gospel Music Association's coveted Dove Award.
With a burning desire and a special calling to share the songs that God had given him, Phil organized Poet Voices in 1991. Within a year of their formation, this talented group had achieved their first Number One hit, "Jesus Built A Bridge." Since that time many top-ten hits have followed. Recognized for their exceptional vocal blend, Poet Voices continues to produce powerful songs including "Grace and Glory", "I Am Redeemed", "Gotta Go Back", "The Key", and "There's No Such Thing".
Poet Voices posseses a sincere desire to partner with churches and promoters to present a unique musical worship experience. "God has anointed this ministry", Phil shares, "our goal is to be vocal instruments of God, dedicated to building up the body of Christ and seeing lost souls come to know Christ. Our aim is to become more transparent so He can be apparent."
