Rang De Basanti
Rang De Basanti (Paint it Saffron) is a 2006 Hindi film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Parts of the film are inspired by story of Flight Lt. Abhijit Gadgil who died while training in a MiG-21. Though well received by most for it's social message and entertainment quotient, the film sparked off debate due to it's controversial climax.
A.R. Rahman composed the music for the film and Prasoon Joshi penned the lyrics. The film won Rahman a Filmfare award for 'Best Music director' in 2007. The film soundtrack remains one of the all-time popular albums by Rahman, and was picked by him as part of his Top 10 best movie music scores. The lyricist also received due praise for coming up with lyrics that captured a vast canvas of emotions.
