Rasmus Faber
The Swedish producer/pianist/songwriter Rasmus Faber started making house music only a few years ago. In fact, his first release was also his first production.
The acclaimed song “Never felt so fly”, featuring swedish singer Melo, which was released on Black Vinyl in June 2002.
Having played piano since seven years of age, Rasmus is certainly no rookie on the music scene. But after having spent several years as a session musician with S.U.M.O.(Africanism) and Marcus Enochson (MaW) he felt the time was right to step into his own productions.
The result was the song “Never felt so fly”. Alan Russel at Black Vinyl Records was quick to pick it up, thus launching Rasmus Fabers career as a house producer.
This led to Rasmus remixing Insatiable by Thick D (a.k.a E-Smoove). The track recieved great reviews and support and dance floors were starting to take notice.
In the late Summer of 2002, Rasmus once again teamed up with Melo for a second collaboration. Together they wrote the song “All for the best”, released on US label Sub-Urban in february 2003, under the name Soul Treat.
The same label also released "Doing Things", a new Soul Treat record, this time featuring swedish singer Ellesse.
During that period, Rasmus was contacted by Defected A&R Simon Dunmore for a remix project on Dubtribe Soundsystem’s song “Autosoul”.
The result was more than Simon had hoped for, in fact, he immediately flew to Stockholm and after hearing his stuff, offered Rasmus a management and label deal.
Thus Farplane Records was born. The first release is the highly anticipated song “Ever After” featuring Emily McEwan on vocals.
Being a musician by heart, Rasmus Faber always incorporate live musical elements in his productions. Rasmus says "Farplane Records is sure to be one of the most interesting new labels, focusing on good songwriting, good lyrics, a musical approach, and outstanding performance.”
Recently, he started working on the project of the summer, remixing Junior Jack’s “Esamba”. He gave it full musical treatment, even recorded new vocals. “Because I’m not into working with tracks, I had to make a song out of it”
The result was exceeding the expectations and got massive support on Ibiza during the summer from Sanchez, Morillo, Morales, Brian Tappert to name but a few....... Rasmus Faber is making his mark!!!!
