Riff
At least three bands have used the name Riff:
1) In Argentina, after separation of Pappo's Blues and Aeroblus, Norberto Napolitano formed a new band called Riff in 1980. They released six studio albums between 1981 and 1997 all with lyrics in Spanish. Riff was a founding stone in Argentinean/Latin American Rock and Roll.
2) American R&B band Riff reached their greatest success in 1991 with the single “My Heart is Failing Me,” which reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and #29 on Billboard Adult Contemporary. Follow-up single “If You’re Serious” reached #88 on the Hot 100 and #7 on Hot R&B. The group would crack the Hot 100 once more in 1992 with “White Men Can’t Jump;” they logged a total of six R&B chart entries. Debut album Riff (1991) was followed by To Whom It May Concern (1993).
