Ringbearer
The band started in late October of 2008 with only a few simple goals in mind. To tour, write/record and hangout. Already in a few short months the band has done this and then some.
In the beginning the group started off as a three peice with three key members Maxxwell Lange on guitar, Mark Warm on drums and Angus McPherson on vocals. Shortly after forming a few weeks in the band decided to record a short demo which turned into being an EP. The group was approached by long time friend Brandon from Forgotten Empire Records about putting out the record on 7" after it was recorded the group agreed and went into the studio and recorded 5 tracks for this record. The album was also planned to be released on Mannequin Rein Recordings (maxxwell's diy label) both to be out on March 3rd of 2009.
The first couple months the bands kept themselves decentl hush hush untill they had something to show for themselves finally on December 1st the group dropped their material online for the first time and started promoting that they were infact a band. Shortly after this the band played their first three shows in late December.
Then in early 2009 the band started to get out there a bit more playing shows around Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois. In february for a short peried of time and only one show the group added a second vocalist named Brett Bugni when he had to leave due to financial and legal issues back home. During this they started planning their first tour in the month of March to support their upcoming Record.
A few weeks before the album coming out word came back from FE that it would be pushed back due to them being robbed for over $10,000.00 so it was pospond but the CD came out as planned while going out for 2 and half weeks around the midwest with My America (pluto records). After returning home the band worked then for a week then went back out for 3 and half more weeks down south west doing select dates with Syrens (cavity records) and Demeanor.
Upon returning home the group took some time off to start writing for a split 7" due out later in the year with Imbroglio from Syracuse, NY on The Path Less Traveled. After this and settling in the band obtained two new members including Nick on bass formerly of the band Gutted Out and Max Moon on guitar formerly of Liferuiner. As well as planning yet another tour.
In the month of June the band left for a 4 week tour East Coast with select dates with Imbroglio (the path less traveled) and Cloacal Kiss (archlight communications). About five days in Max decided the band wasnt for him and decided to leave but before doing so also decided it would be a good idea for him and the at the time drummer of Imbroglio to do $20,000.00 worth of Spraypaint "tagging" dammages to our home town of Pella. Then putting himself in Jail as well as forcing the group to cancle a few dates of tour.
Upon returing home from tour the band went back to the norm, work and writing. This is up to date with what currently is happening in the world of Ringbearer.
