Sarah Humphreys
Sarah Humphreys music has been described as immediately appealing folk/pop music with a 60's feel, compared to artists like Bic Runga, Bob Evans, Josh Pyke and Angie Hart.
Sarah has been consistantly playing gigs since 2002 supporting artists including Renee Geyer, Kasey Chambers, Mick Hart and Bernie Hayes, played at music festivals including Peats Ridge Festival, played at NSW's premier venues (The Basement, The Vanguard, Lizottes etc) taken her music interstate and spent many hours in the studio working on her debut EP and her brand new album. Her reputation and fan base are steadily growing and her independent records are reaching people and making a big impact.
Her EP ‘Ghost On The Roof’ has received rave reviews for it’s organic and honest delivery. It was recorded in February 2005 at Sarah’s house in Wamberal on Sydney's Central Coast and has a very intimate feel. It has received radio airplay all over the country, including support from Triple J and local radio stations.
Drawing inspiration from a broad range of influences including Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell and The Beatles - her songs are melodically rich and from the heart.
Sarah has just finished her new album 'Teapot Trees and Love Birds' with producer, Michael Carpenter, released in December 2007 through her own indie label, May Records and Green/MGM distribution. Sarah plans to promote the album by travelling through Australian cities and regional areas from the beginning of 2008 and throughout the year. The album is available in stores from January 15 2008.
