Sky High
Swedish blues/rock band similar to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
After numerous line-up changes over the years, and the only constant member, guitarist/singer Clas Yngström in front, the band Sky High continues to perform powerful bluesrock.
Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1978, Clas Yngström & Sky High released albums all through the 80's, and the most commersial sucessfull album to date, Humanizer in 1987. Although their breakthrough album, called Freezin' Hot (released in the summer of 1985) made Sky High a household name in Sweden and Scandinavia. In the 80's, the band toured with ZZ Top and the legend says that Clas Yngström & Sky High was asked to leave the tour, allegedly because they outgrew the main act. Clas Yngström also released and album under the name Sky High at the end of the 1980's, called Have Guitar, Will Travel, with members from Journey and Steve Miller Band.
After releasing albums through the 90's and signing with Virgin in 2003, The whole catalogue was remastered and re-released on CD by Virgin/EMI in 2005. The band is touring northern Europe frequently, and released a DVD in 2007 containing a live concert from 2000 and a "story of", told by past and present mebers of Sky High, called "28 years of madness".
In 2008 The full catalogue released by Virgin will be available in the iTunes Store worldwide.
For this release Clas Yngström have decided to put all albums under the artist name Clas Yngström & Sky High
Clas Yngström & Sky High today is Clas Yngström, James Bradley and Ulf ”Rockis” Ivarsson. The classic fan-favourite line up in the 1980's was Clas Yngström, Mats "Östen" Östensson and Arne "Mr Dynamite" Blomqvist.
