Spies Who Surf
As a Chicago fixture for almost a decade, Spies Who Surf were one of those bands who almost everyone had heard of, and were surprised they weren't more famous. With their instrumental rock that called upon
elements from surf, jazz and film themes, Spies gigs were regular and consistently packed to the gills.
They were playing surf to enthusiastic crowds around Chicago before there was any kind of surf revival
on a larger scale. Their one and only release was the 1993 disc "Calling All Martians," although it's
apparent that they had at least 2 tracks on a coupla compilations (including a cover of "Hocus Pocus" by Focus!). Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
