Releases: Apache, Mayday, Where We Lost It
2. Electro/Rock producer & DJ duo Lionel Towers & Xavier Bacash from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
also known as Gypsy And The Cat.
3. Starfighter started out as the solo project of Tim Brown. After moving from Hasselt, Limburg to Ghent, Tim created eleven songs and recorded them on an analog 4 –track recorder with whatever gear was found ‘round his flat. ‘No/Fi’ (KS022) is the title of this debut album. To be able to perform live, drummer Jen Bernon and bassplayer Luc Waegeman joined Starfighter.
The interest in Starfighter grows national and international.
The first Starfighter full album is called "Make a sex Noise”. The three singles taken from this album( About You, International, My Attitude) got good airplay on Belgian ‘Alternative’ radio station Studio Brussel and the videoclips got shown on Belgian music TV channels Jim TV and TMF. Press jumped onto Starfighter like dogs with rabies. ‘Make a Sex Noise’ has been released in Belgium, Holland and France.
After a period of absence and writing new material, 2005 brings us (apart from the joining of Sebastian from labelmates Dr. Pepper Family) the release of ORION, Starfighter's second album and a fresh start for the band.
Orion is not only the beautiful constellation near the equator but recently also the second album of Ghent based rockband Starfighter. It was recorded in november 2004 in the Art Sound Studios in Helchteren (Belgium), produced by Niek Meul (of Belgian pop band Das Pop) and engineered by Gareth Parton (The Go! Team, The Killers, Placebo, Polyphonic Spree.)
During a short but intense period of seven days, a series of songs were recorded that at first feel haven’t got a lot in common. But by doing that, Starfighter does exactly as it pleases. At one moment, that ‘ll be recording a happy singalong feelgood poptune, at other moments they just wanna spit out a pile of noise or mash up a powerriff and an acoustic guitar or create some melancholic fuzz. Under the watching eyes of Meul and Parton the 11 songs blend together perfectly and the constellation Orion appears.
Starfighter’s second album is one with many style changes and directions that will take its time to settle in your heart. More than that, Orion is an honest record of a bunch of musicians that do exactly as they please without jumping on the train of musical trends or choosing one specific direction. From instrumental opener ‘Theme’ ‘till the last note of ‘Demons at Play’, the guitars are all around, be it in a different concept every time. Restricting themselves to one style is impossible for Starfighter, their own taste in music being too diverse.
4. A soundtrack for the explicit sci-fi webcomic Starfighter also goes by this name. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
