Stijene
Stijene was a Croatian rock band, founded by keyboardist and composer Marin Mišo Limić in Klis, small town nearby Split, Croatia.
Stijene recorded three highly acclaimed rock albums - Cementna prašina (1981), Jedanaest i petnaest (1982) and Balkanska korida (1984), before turning to more commercial pop oriented sound.
One of the band`s trademarks is definitely the extraordinary voice of Zorica Kondža, the first vocalist of Stijene, who sang on first two albums. Her voice was the inspiration for many female singers to come, especially to all those who sang in Stijene after her.
After leaving Stijene, Zorica Kondža started a successful solo career lasting to this day.
Zorica Kondža was replaced by Vesna Ivić, who sang on the third album, Balkanska korida released in 1984, but she also soon left the band to pursue the solo career.
Stijene later changed a few more great female vocalists (Maja Blagdan, Ines Žižić, Izabela Martinović), but never managed to repeat the success of the first three albums.
