THE CAPTAINS
Formed in 2001, The Captains [[artist]ザ・キャプテンズ] members are Kizuhiko [Guitar, Vocal], Jackie [Guitar], Ted [Bass], Kei [Keyboards}, and Yosuke [Drums].
They play GS or "Group Sounds" style music which was inspired by late 1960's British Rock and Roll bands like The Beatles or The Who. A parallel scene which emulated the British bands developed in Japan around the same time and became incredibly popular.
Famous bands of the scene such as The Golden Cups, The Spiders and The Tempters (songs by each The Captains have covered) have all now disappeared. All except The Captains who introduce themselves as "The Last Group Sounds" band who carry on the spirit and music of the era with their own individual twist.
