The Bullets
There are three bands called The Bullets. One is from Greece; the other is a from the UK, an offshoot of the 90s power pop band Silver Sun, the third one is early reggae/soul band from L.A., a new flavor from The Aggrolites' organist Roger Rivas. "Sweet Misery" is their debut album on jump up records .
The Bullets from Greece were formed in 1988, at the East side of Thessaloniki. That season was ideal for rockabilly fans. There were many groups and gangs, clubs and gigs. But the times are changing, and the greatest part of that rockin crowd has now disappeared. BUT BULLETS HAVEN’T! They have played countless times live. Much touring, many festivals, appearances in small gigs or great concerts, gave them weird experiences and a unique passion relationship with their me-tooer fans.
Setting aside their long history, they have a minor record productivity. They have just a 4-track 7" EP with Surf tunes. They’re currently working on their upcoming LP "Final Race", and one limited edition single for On Stage Rec. They’ve spent their time playing live, but they’ve written dozens of songs. They were mostly inspired by the underground-trash fifties rockabilly scene but they also adore Gene Vincent, Link Wray and the Ventures. The sixties punkers are O.K., but the surfers are better! If ya don’t look back what’d ya see? The rockabilly and garage revivals in the early 80’s was a catalyst for todays bands like THE BULLETS. But still the king is ELVIS and their godfather is JOHNNY CAROLL.
The Bullets from the UK was a band formed by Silver Sun singer James Broad in the time that Silver Sun were inactive. No material was ever officially released, however James has freely allowed their recordings to be freely distributed among Silver Sun fans.
The Bullets from L.A were formed by Roger Rivas, organist from The Aggrolites. The band consist of musicians with background from various ska and reggae bands, The Bullets describe their sound as a merger between classic Pama reggae and Chicano soul from southern California.
