The Reactors
There is more than 1 band called The Reactors:
1. The Reactors are an eclectic rock band based out of Chicago by way of Kalamazoo, MI formed in 2013 by John Jacobs, Jimmy Stone, Tommy Grill and Greg Foresi. Their debut self-titled album recorded in Chicago is scheduled to be released independently at the end of 2014. With influences ranging from Queen and Iron Maiden to David Bowie and Oasis to Simon & Garfunkel and Fleet Foxes, The Reactors bring variance and life to a genre that is all too well known for bands getting stuck in a formula and repeating the same process.
2. The Reactors first formed in 1978. They played their own brand of fast, raw, and desperate punk rock in the unlikely urban city of San Bernardino, CA. The Reactors existed from 1978 until 1982. During that time they released one 7" EP and one 12" LP on their own Nuclear Waste Records label. Believeing in the D.I.Y. spirit of the times, they did everything for themselves. The members and their close friends all took different jobs in order to further their goals. Some took photos, created artwork, did layout, produced the recordings, etc.
3. The Reactors were formed at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut in 1978. Bob Payes on Bass, Jason levitt on drums, and Keith Reimer on guitar. Recorded outside Atlantic City, NJ the split EP with Derislandz, and the Meltdown Single almost immediately after - pressed by the band itself, only 100 copies were ever produced. Bob went on to play in another band called the Adventurers, after the band split.
