The Brothers Gerrit (Guitar, Vocals) and Bennie (Keys, Mouth Organ and Vocals) Veldman have been the unmistakable Centerpiece of the Band for all of those years. Behind them are their Rhythm Brothers Fred van der Wende on Bass and Han Neijenhuis on Drums - four (Step) Brothers; all four with loads of experience and above all still with the necessary experience, passion, energy and enthusiasm for The Blues and other relevant Music Styles.
They've made Five CD's and received a large number of awards. in 2011 they received the award for Best Band from The Dutch Blues Foundation. Their Album "Livin' By The Day" was chosen in 2014 by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, U.S.A. in the category 'Best Self-Produced Blues Album' to the International Top 5!! The four Band members have also received individual awards and or Nominations for their achievements. It goes without saying that the Veldman Brothers play more Gigs than most: in the Netherlands, but also in Germany, Belgium and France.
It's this 'Team Spirit' that makes The Veldman Brothers such a unique Band - no Egos, just everything concentrated on the Music and The Song:- mostly original Songs written by themselves, influenced both by themselves and by the 'Greats of the Past' such as old Blues Hero's like The Vaughan Brothers, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Smith, The Fabulous Thunderbirds etc. etc. Above all they have their own unique, very recognizable "Sound" - Blues, Rhythm & Blues, West coast Blues and Delta Blues interspersed with a touch of Rock'n Roll, Country and even Soul and Funk.
