Tony da Gatorra
Antônio Carlos Correia de Moura (Esteio, 8-3-1951), known as Tony da Gatorra, is a brazilian musician from Rio Grande do Sul.
With the knowledge accumulated from his work as an electrician, Tony developed in the late-90s a musical instrument named "gatorra", a kind of combination of electronic drums and synthesizer, which he uses to plays song with protest lyrics and synth-punk resemblance.
After being signed with a recorded label from São Paulo, Tony started doing shows around the whole country and released his first album, 'Só Protesto', in 2005. Five years later, after gaining international fame when the band Franz Ferdinand bought their own gatorra, Tony's collaboration with Super Furry Animals vocalist Gruff Rhys resulted in the album 'The Terror of Cosmic Loneliness', which was followed by an UK tour.
