Vaughan Mason & Crew
Vaughan Mason & Crew was a funk and late-disco group, best known for their single "Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll", which reached #5 on the US Black Singles Charts in 1980. In 1981, the band released the single "Jammin' Big Guitar", which charted at #65. "Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll" has since been used in various samples by artists such as De La Soul and Mr. Magic. Their early years are definitely disco or disco inspired and their epic release is a common roller-rink disco hit. However, they are on the cusp of the period between disco and 80s dance (or, late-disco 1980-1983), and are often cited and listed as early hip-hop. Read more on Last.fm.
