AK-69 a.k.a KALASSY NIKOFF (A.K. sixty-nine/Kuh-lass-ee nee-koff) is a j-urban artist, from 0568 K-TOWN (Komaki, Aichi Prefecture), AK-69 is signed to the Indie label (MS) Entertainment. He got his start working in a short term duo with J-reggae artist B-Ninja. They released a few singles as well as an album together in till they split in 2004. Not long after that AK-69 put out his first full album called Paint The World. Led by the west coast inspired single Never Gonna Stop, Paint The World was a mesh mass of g-funk and light R&B undertones. As AK-69 begin to release more music his popularity slowly began to rise. In till 2008 when he scored a collab with Koda Kumi with the song (Bling Bling Bling). Not long after he dropped what is considered his magnum opus 'The Cartel From Streets,. The 18 track album cemented him in J-Pop culture as it showed a more sing-songy side to his music. His latest album THE RED MAGIC managed to see great success on the Oricon making it to #4 on it's debut which is a great feet for an artist in his position.
For his rap persona, he uses the "AK-69" part to start, but for his softer, R&B side, he starts with KALASSY NIKOFF.
