Andrew Lockington
Andrew Lockington (b. 1974, Ontario, Canada) is a composer of music for film. He has been writing music for feature films and television since 1997. Andrew’s score to the "Journey to the Center of the Earth" received critical acclaim worldwide and was a strong contributor to the film grossing over $250,000,000 worldwide. That same year, Andrew also composed the score for the Tom Hanks produced "City of Ember", starring Tim Robbins, Bill Murray and Saoirse Ronan.
Other credit’s include the Sundance hits "Touch of Pink", "How She Move" and "Long Life, Happiness & Prosperity" as well as the Toronto Film Festival favorites "Saint Ralph" and "One Week". However it was Andrew’s ground-breaking orchestral score to Constantin’s dramatic thriller "Skinwalkers" in 2007 that opened the door to several big-budget studio films in 2008 and 2009.
2009 began with Andrew being awarded "Breakthrough Composer of the Year" at the International Film Music Critics Awards, being nominated for "Discovery Of The Year" at the World Soundtrack Awards, and receiving both the BMI and SOCAN Film Music Awards.
Recent projects include Andrew’s eclectic score for the "Frankie and Alice", parkour dance film "Beat the World" and "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island".
