Bubblegum Splash
Bubblegum Splash were an indie pop band from Salisbury, England. They comprised of Nikki Barr on vocals, Dave Todd on bass, Jim Harrison on guitar, Marty Cummins on tambourine and backing vocals and Alan Ware on drums. The band were only together for 13 months, mainly over 1987, and recorded just seven tracks in total. "Splashdown!" was a four track EP released in August 1987 consisting of "Plastic Smile", "Just Walked Away", "Fast Of Friends" and "One Of Those Things". It was released on Subway Organization and reached #15 in the indie charts. In November 1987, "Someone Said" and "The 18:10 To Yeovil Junction" were included in the record labels "Surfin' To The Subway" and "Take The Subway To The Suburb" compilation LP's. Finally in December 1987 "If Only" was released on a split 7" single with The Darling Buds contributing the other track. The band once supported The Pastels in Bristol in 1987. They broke up after an argument during a gig in Stoke in 1988. After splitting Dave Todd and Jim Harrison formed Jane From Occupied Europe. Read more on Last.fm.
