Cory Monteith
Cory Allan Monteith (May 11, 1982 - July 13, 2013) was a Canadian actor and singer, best known for being part of the Glee Cast. Monteith was born in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Victoria, British Columbia.
Monteith appeared on Fox's 2009 television hit Glee, portraying male lead Finn Hudson for the show's first four seasons. Prior to Glee, Monteith claimed to have had no experience with singing or dancing; however, he was a fairly talented drummer. His audition tape for Glee even featured his drumming talents as he rhythmically drummed on glass bottles and containers to demonstrate his musical abilities.
Before becoming an actor, he had several jobs: Wal-Mart people greeter, taxi driver, telemarketer and construction worker. Monteith started his acting career in Vancouver, British Columbia. He also never graduated from high school, dropping out in the 9th grade. In an interview he said, "It wasn't for me, I can remember ever since about the sixth or seventh grade, I just didn't understand why I had to learn what I was learning. For some reason, there was a spirit of rebellion in me." Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
