Drugi način
The band Drugi Način ("Another Way") formed in Zagreb, Croatia (former ex-Yugoslavian republic), by members of the band called Zlatni Akordi ("The Golden Chords").
Zlatni Akordi were first renamed to Novi Akordi ("The New Chords"), and from October 1974 to Drugi Način.
Their sound was rock with elements of progressive rock, with guitar and vocal harmonies and a flute, which gave the band a chacteristic and recognizable sound.
In 1975 they released their debut self-titled album Drugi način.
At the end of 1976 the band split-up, so Ismet Kurtović (vocals, guitar, flute) and Halil Mekić (guitar) formed a short-lived off-shoot band Nepočin, which released only one album, Svijet po kojem gazim ("The World I`m Stepping On") in 1977 and soon disbanded.
Drugi Način re-formed in 1978, having recorded several singles and a second LP, Ponovno na putu ("On the road again", 1982), which did not repeat the success of the debut, so the band restricted its activity to only occasional concerts during the 1980's and gradually retired from the scene.
One of the founding members, singer and the flutist Branko Požgajec re-formed the band in 1992 again and released the third album (Drugi način, called the same as their debut from 1975) with re-recorded old songs from their 70's singles.
In May 2000 Drugi Način appeared as a support group on the Jethro Tull concert in Zagreb, Croatia. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
