HK & Les Saltimbanks
The HK & Saltimbank is a French popular music band from Lille.
The HK & Saltimbank was formed in 2006 under the leadership of HK, one of two singers of the Ministry of Popular. The musical style of the HK & Saltimbank rather focused on the blues, reggae or chaabi, however, differs radically from that of MAP over hip-hop party scene.
The group wrote texts that describe the excesses committed a part of society, so one finds recurring themes such as social exclusion, inequality, overconsumption. The group sees itself as "the little brother of Zebda", with whom he shared the stage at the festival Controlled Origin in 2010.
After more than three years of touring, especially in French festivals, the band released their debut album World Citizen January 31, 2011.
