Jan Václav Antonín Stamic
Jan Václav Antonín Stamic (June 17, 1717, Německý Brod – March 27, 1757, Mannheim) was a Czech composer (his name was lately germanized as Johann Wenzel Anton Stamitz - also only Johann Stamitz - during his life in Mannheim ) and violinist. He is one of the main co-founders of the classical era musical style. His importance is multilateral, above all in discovering of 4-movement sonata musical form and participation on new form of 4-movement classical symphony. He founded famous "Mannheim school", from which arose another excellent classicist composers. Stamic´s works were admired by Wolfang Amadeus Mozart and we can hear that influence also in some of his compositions.
