Jawat!
Jawat! is a Dutch hiphop-artist. His name basically means 'Yeah what?' and his real name is Raoul Geerman.
Jawat! started writing english songs under the name of Smook. Together with Duvelduvel (Duvel, Rein de Vos and Supahdupah), his cousin Gambit and dancer Junior he formed a group called Skiffo's.
He became famous in 2004 when his songs "Koppensnellers" and "D-d-d-dikke Gek" came on the album "Buiten Westen" from Dutch producer Kubus.
On 5 September 2005 he released his own album called 'Ut Zwarte Aap'. The album also features artists like Opgezwolle and Duvelduvel. The first shipment of 2500 albums was sold out within 5 days. The album was released by the biggest Dutch hiphop label, Top Notch and was produced by Duvel (of Duvelduvel), Kubus, Delic (Dippy Delic of Opgezwolle) and Dion. The first single was 'Zwarte Koffie' (Black Coffee) with Opgezwolle.
On 23 December 2005 he won the "Grote Prijs van Nederland" (Big Prize of Holland) in the category Hip-Hop/R&B.
Jawat! performed at a few populair events like Lowlands, Appelsap, Werfpop, DeHop, Meet the streets and Paradiso. His performances are very energetic.
