Lil Rue
Rap artist and North Oakland aka Ice City, California native Lil Rue has been building his rap career literally since his preteen years. In ’08 the 18 year old rapper joined the roster of indie Oakland label Livewire Records and has been delivering solid appearances on the company’s releases ever since. Rue received high street acclaim from fans for his cover appearances and gutter verses on Murder Fa Hire: The Hopout and Livewire Radio after which Rue wasted no time putting out additional projects with label-mate Lil Blood on Shottas, and J-Stalin Presents: Lil Rue – Fully Loaded in ’09.
’09 was also when Rue began appearing in several popular online music videos which included Extortion Music and Snitch Food (both videos have over 100k youtube views EACH), as well build his resume of features on artists albums such as J-Stalin, Philthy Rich, Stevie Joe & more.
In early 2010, Lil Rue teamed up with DJ Racks to release Quit Hatin the Bay: Bearfaced Edition with his original group Bearfaced Gang (Rue, HD, & Henn Sippa). By now Rue had built enough of a following to earn a scheduled slot for his 1st official solo album, entitled Tha Dead End on Town Thizzness/SMC a longtime Livewire partner and very respected independent record company that is distributed by Warner Bros. And since then, Rue has been diligently hitting studios all over the west coast working on songs with various reputable rappers and producers(to be named) and fans continue to seek more news on this highly anticipated project on forums such as siccness.net and bayontop.com
As a precursor to Tha Dead End Rue released a street album titled Stars & Straps, a collection of hard-hitting music with street-driven content featuring J-Stalin, Stevie Joe, Philthy Rich & Mistah FAB in Oct of 2010 with the purpose of quenching the high demand for his music. And as another sign of Rue’s continued commitment to his career, Rue has also just landed his latest video PUSH IT on worldstarhiphop.com and has received nearly 20k views in under 2 weeks. Needless to say the kid knows how to push. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
