Marek Brandt
Marek Brandt is a German sound and media artist. He creates film music, art, music videos, and sonic installations. His music incorporates microsounds, granular synthesis, and field recordings.
He started collecting sounds and field recordings in the early '90s using old dictaphones and transportable tape recorders, recording the world around him and experimenting with guitar and other stringed instruments. He would include this early material in his later video and sound Installations.
In the mid-'90s he discovered the digital sound. Brandt is well known for his live visual sets and his experimental soundtracks for independent movies worldwide. He frequently collaborates with other artists. He currently lives in Leipzig, Germany and is the head of the label privatelektro
Marek also releases music under his name triPhaze and is one of the first members of the Endliche Automaten Laptoporchester - former Laptoporchester Berlin.
Under his name he released a record on U Cover with Nicolas Weiser called Königsstadt.
