P.L.
Hailing out of the small town of Ann Arbor, Michigan , 5-Week BET 106 and Park Freestyle Friday Champion P.L. has impressed not only locals but industry heads with his “Punch Line” based flow and “attention grabbing, corner music”. After releasing a number of revered mixtapes within a 3 year period throughout Michigan and online (“The Juice” Series mixtapes 1-4) , P.L. teamed with the self-proclaimed “Detroit Mixtape General” DJ Young Mase for 2007’s “Without Warning” mixtape, one of the best projects of the year coming out of Michigan. In addition to introducing not only Michigan but the world to a new breed of skill that Michigan has to offer, the mixtape, along with likeminded recordings from Jim Jones and K-Deezy, played a major part in bringing a sense of fresh air, creativity, and overall hope for a movement back to the Michigan music scene. Still continuing the consistency and quality material, P.L. recently released the second and third installments of the “Without Warning” series, entitled “Without Warning Vol.2” and "Without Warning Vol.3". This has proven to set an unprecedented level of quality within P.L.’s local area and even his entire state.
Since the mixtape releases P.L. has been busy: readying the release of his highly anticipated street album “Hard Work”, performing in countless venues and concerts, and preparing everyone for the success and movement of Michigan's finest. His name has continuously been hot with a steady rise in the Midwest due to heavy radio play from his recent singles, "Let Me Hold Somethin" and the get fresh anthem, "Fresher Den You". While collaborating with an exceptional amount of local and major recording artists in order to establish and solidify his name, P.L. has expanded his name internationally. Recent tours overseas and appearances in Europe, Asia, Canada and more have done more than helped get P.L. noticed by the masses.
P.L. has collaborated with D12 for their recently released mixtape, "Return of The Dozen" and shared the mic with Jim Jones for a collaboration effort on P.L.'s mixtape "Without Warning Vol.2". Also, he traveled with Jim Jones and locally known Detroit artists K-Deezy, Stretch Money, and Tone Tone on a four-city promotional tour throughout Michigan: The Midwest Marauders Tour. He's opened for Fabolous, the late MC Breed, Camron, Juelz Santana and headliner Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz in Atlanta.
P.L. has also found time in the past year to work behind the scenes, ghostwriting with Multi-Platinum Producer Needlz, who has produced “Piggybank” and “God Gave Me Style” for 50 Cent and “Let Me In” for Young Buck. He’s also been working with the Grammy Award Winning production team The J.U.S.T.I.C.E LEAGUE (Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Mary J. Blige and more). P.L. recently partook in D12’s “Who Wanna Battle” rap battle and crushed the competition while grabbing the attention of D12 members Bizarre and Swifty Mcvey. As a result of P.L.’s overwhelming win, the two D12 members asked P.L. to guest appear on an upcoming D12 project due out soon.
Even with all of these accomplishments under the “Punchline King’s” belt, he still continues to work at his music like nothing has happened.
