Robert Folk
Robert Folk was born in New York, and started his musical career at a young age concentrating on song writing. After touring for several years with various east coast Rock bands, he then turned his focus to a more Classical environment. Earning his BA, MA, and DMA from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, Mr. Folk also taught at the school for several years while composing Orchestral and Chamber music. In the early 80's Mr. Folk scored a film which enabled him to work with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This experience led him to Hollywood, where he has scored 40 Studio pictures, and numerous independent films.
In 1990 Mr. Folk composed and conducted an original Ballet entitled TO DREAM OF ROSES for American Ballet Theater. The filmed version which was recorded with The London Symphony Orchestra played at The Osaka Worlds Fair in a pavilion especially built for the resulting IMAX/HIGH DEFINITION film.
Mr. Folk is currently finishing THE DUBBED ACTION MOVIE with long time collaborator, writer-director Steve Oedekerk (ACE VENTURA, NOTHING TO LOSE). The film, which will be distributed by 20th Century Fox, will be released this Spring.
