Sõpruse Puiestee
Sõpruse Puiestee (Friendship Boulevard) are an Estonian
alternative rock band formed in Tallinn, Estonia in 1992, They consist of Allan Vainola (vocals, guitar),C]Mait Vaik (lyrics), Alar Tammela (guitar), Andrus Uutsalu (bass), Villu Viirsalu (drums), Mart Süda (saxophone), Andres Rooväli (leader of the project), Tanel Raja (motivation, materialistic support), and Kaupo Kaldmäe (sound mixing).
Andres Rooväli did not only come up with the idea, he also worked on the band's identity, the message they are trying to get through to people, and the band's future program in general. During the past years, the idea has been improved, a lot of practical work such as writing songs and lyrics has been done, many young, talented musicians have joined the band.
The band has released three full albums so far; "Mustale merele" (to the Black Sea), in 2003 and "XX sajandi lapsed" (Children of the 20th Century), in 2004, both of which were acclaimed by their listeners. The newest album was realised in autumn 2007 " Oota mind ära" (Wait for me)
Sõpruse Puiestee's music is about different people, events and eras, while asking, "Who am I, who are you, and why are we?" at the same time. Their songs are realistic and honest, without sounding too dismal. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
